Fancy having your solemnisation in the midst of birdies? Before meeting Eric and Serene, I had no idea that JBP offers such services. Quite a refreshing idea I must say, as there are only so many places in our little red dot of an island that you can hold that special occasion. I thought that the couple were bird lovers, after chit chatting with them, well.. not exactly, but kudos to them to have thought of this idea!

Prior to their ROM, we had a fun time shooting some on location shots. Check it out below!

There was an interesting event after the shoot.. the release of love birds by the couple! See if you can spot one of the birds flying off below :)

After this, It was off to prepare for the actual ROM ceremony by the couple!

Despite a long day, Eric was still full of smiles and energy. Hey, he’s about to make one of the most, if not the most important, commitment in his life!

For Serene, she had a little more help in the preparation!

When you have your ROM is the bird park, expect that the birds will have a hand (or wing) in helping you in the occassion. Here, a cockadoo “handed” Eric Serene’s wedding ring. Now how cool is that?

We decided to spend our last day at Interlaken doing something a little more exciting. First, an early morning train ride to the Jungfraujoch, or as it is more commonly known “Top of Europe”. The train ride took us through the mountains, and continued its upward journey till we reached the final train station.  I really take my hats off the workers who laid the tracks in freezing weather almost a century ago! It was a lesiurely 2.5 hour ride up, with 2 stops in between. As we got higher, the view got more fantastic!

The view started to get really good even at the beginning of the trip!

One of the train stops along the way

Another scene along the upward journey.

Interlaken is famous for her snow sports and we saw several ski stations along the way.

The view at the top.. simply breathtaking!

Just enjoying the magnificent view before him

We met a couple from Korea along the trip and guess what? They were on their honeymoon as well! We hit it off right away and had some fun together taking photos of each other and for each other as well. They are a really friendly and nice couple. We had some language difficulty but it was a blast trying to guess what each of us are trying to say!

We are at the top of the world! Yipee!!

And towards the evening, Ivy and I both tried something that we have never tried before.. paragliding!! We saw so many paragliders during our stay at Interlaken that we decided to give it a try. After all, it looks really easy and.. how hard can it be??

Well, I started to have second thoughts the moment I reached the launching place and looked in front of me. This was what I saw…

Our instructors.. Benny (left) and Simon, preparing the parachutes (is that what it is called?)

We ran down a slope and the wind caught the chute behind us, lifting us off the ground. Take off!!! I’ll never forget the adrenaline rush as we got liftted up and off the ground. You can see all of Interlaken at the top and everything seemed so small! I learned from Benny that one would have to be an expert at reading wind directions and to manipulate it so that you can go where you want to go, and not where the wind takes you. We spent about 12 minutes up on the air, and I finally know what birds see from the sky. The red parachute you see above, at the bottom right was Ivy’s :)

Btw, we did not do it ourselves but were strapped in a seat with the instructor behind us!

The midpoint of our honeymoon took us to Interlaken , a small touristy town situated in the highlands, in the middle of 2 beautiful lakes – Thun and Brienz. The train journey from Prague to Interlaken took 16 hours with 2 train changes!! It was an overnight ride on sleeper cabins. Upon alighting at Interlaken West – one of the 2 train stations in town, we could immediately sense that the place felt different from Vienna and Prague. Everything somehow seemed more ordely, clean, and we also felt safer moving about in town.

When we reached our bed and breakfast accommodation, we found an envelop with my name stuck on the door handle. In the envelop was our room key and a welcome note. What was surprising was that the main door was unlocked!  Singapore is known as a safe city but I really doubt anyone in their right minds would leave the doors unlocked. Does this mean it was so safe that people do not even need to lock their doors? Wow.

Anyway, we had the top floor of the house all by ourselves and it was all very neat, clean and cheery. On hindsight, this was our favorite place of stay in our honeymoon!

Taken in the train on the way to Interlaken. Don't you wish you could stay in one of those houses?

Our room!

One of the 2 churches (one catholic, the other protestant) in Interlaken. Guess which is this?

Same church, different angle and timing. Love the sunrays!

We went to the city of Bern on our second day to check it out…

A picture I took in the station while waiting for the train to take us back to Interlaken
