I can hardly remember the last time I visited Pulau Ubin. However, I still remember the rustic charm that beckons visitors to the little island. It is a haven for photography as well, with all the kampong houses, coconut trees and lush greenery scattered throughout. So it was with a sense of anticipation that I went with Chen Siang and Su Ping to this island northeast of Singapore for their engagement shoot!
One of the best things about being a photographer is that I get to direct my couples according to my whims and fancies during the photography session. Chen Siang and Su Ping is one of the most sporting couples I know who really followed what I asked them to do. Neither swarms of mosquitos nor physically challenging activities deterred them. I am really impressed by their “professionalism” haha.
It was a blast cycling around the island looking for cool looking spots. I almost felt like being back to my young and carefree days again! Here are some of my favourite pictures for the day.
No, this is not abuse but a loving swat on Su Ping's face when Chen Siang spotted a mosquito on her cheek

Contrary to what many of you folks may think, I do not like to carry DSLRs most of the time. They are big, they are heavy, they are cumbersome, and they attract attention when you do not want it. In short, they can be a real pain sometimes.
Unfortunately for me, I need them because of their ability to produce really great quality images which lesser cameras are not able to. Fortunately for you, you can always expect the best quality images from me
Shameless plug aside, I have recently acquired a new toy. It is a small point and shoot camera! Believe me when I tell you this little fella packs a powerful punch when it comes to photography. It’s picture quality is impressive for a camera this small, and it feels really good in my hands. Apparantly, this camera has reached “cult status” in Japan!
I think I will bring this little guy out everywhere I go from now. Snap snap here, snap snap there.. yummy…
Here are some snaps that I took with this little guy to share with you…
Some textures…
