Simple words, yet promising a lifetime of commitment towards each other, Quentin and Linda got married in front of their loved ones at the amazing Amara Sanctuary Resort, Sentosa.

Their romance spanned many years, and it was so interesting to hear how they met, two people with such contrasting personalities, yet eventually drawn together and now becoming together.

As their photographer, I get to find out all these little nibbles of information and adding that with our short time together, I get to see a more complete Quentin and Linda. This is one thing I love being a wedding photographer. We begin as strangers but after spending time talking with them, photographing them and talking to their close friends, I end up feeling as though I have known the couple! And it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling when that happens!

For me, I shall always remember the speech by Quentin’s father. Not that I understand totally everything what uncle meant (in fact, I was struggling initially, trying to fathom what was being conveyed with my limited intellect) but I recall a little bit of stoic humour, mixed with interesting but heartfelt anecdotes, and combined with loving blessings to the couple. I shall also remember Quentin’s best man, Shaun’s cool demeanor on the stage and his very interesting stories about Quentin. Heh.

I know you must be dying to see the pictures, so here they are!

I guess I will always remember Amirul & Aida, not only because of the fun that I had shooting their pre wedding sessions, nor was it totally due to their affable personalities, but I suspect it to be the very nice malay and indian food that they introduced me on several occasions. Oh, did I mention already that the buffet spread was heavenly during their wedding as well? Yummy…

It was my first time shooting a malay wedding, and though in some ways it is similar to a chinese wedding, it presents its own unique flavour that is very new and refreshing to me. First of all, the colors! Vibrant colors abound in decorations around the wedding grounds, and the couple (especially Aida) looked really gorgeous in their traditional malay wedding attire. Then it was the atmosphere. Drums and music filled the air when the groom made his entrance, in the midst of all the celebratory cheers and excited voices.? Finally it was the people. I saw so many smiling faces and warm hugs around the couple, as families, relatives and friends all gathered to congratulate and bask in the occasion. It was truly a “happening” experience and I am just so glad to be a part of it!

There are so many images that I love, but just to share a few of my favourites.
