Simple words, yet promising a lifetime of commitment towards each other, Quentin and Linda got married in front of their loved ones at the amazing Amara Sanctuary Resort, Sentosa.
Their romance spanned many years, and it was so interesting to hear how they met, two people with such contrasting personalities, yet eventually drawn together and now becoming together.
As their photographer, I get to find out all these little nibbles of information and adding that with our short time together, I get to see a more complete Quentin and Linda. This is one thing I love being a wedding photographer. We begin as strangers but after spending time talking with them, photographing them and talking to their close friends, I end up feeling as though I have known the couple! And it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling when that happens!
For me, I shall always remember the speech by Quentin’s father. Not that I understand totally everything what uncle meant (in fact, I was struggling initially, trying to fathom what was being conveyed with my limited intellect) but I recall a little bit of stoic humour, mixed with interesting but heartfelt anecdotes, and combined with loving blessings to the couple. I shall also remember Quentin’s best man, Shaun’s cool demeanor on the stage and his very interesting stories about Quentin. Heh.
I know you must be dying to see the pictures, so here they are!

I guess I will always remember Amirul & Aida, not only because of the fun that I had shooting their pre wedding sessions, nor was it totally due to their affable personalities, but I suspect it to be the very nice malay and indian food that they introduced me on several occasions. Oh, did I mention already that the buffet spread was heavenly during their wedding as well? Yummy…
It was my first time shooting a malay wedding, and though in some ways it is similar to a chinese wedding, it presents its own unique flavour that is very new and refreshing to me. First of all, the colors! Vibrant colors abound in decorations around the wedding grounds, and the couple (especially Aida) looked really gorgeous in their traditional malay wedding attire. Then it was the atmosphere. Drums and music filled the air when the groom made his entrance, in the midst of all the celebratory cheers and excited voices.? Finally it was the people. I saw so many smiling faces and warm hugs around the couple, as families, relatives and friends all gathered to congratulate and bask in the occasion. It was truly a “happening” experience and I am just so glad to be a part of it!
There are so many images that I love, but just to share a few of my favourites.

It rained the day Eric and Julia got married. The sky was heavy laden with dark clouds throughout the day, and the rain did not dissipate long after their wedding celebrations were over.
However, the atmosphere was far from gloomy in a particular wedding suite located somewhere in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Changi Airport. It was the wedding day of Eric and Julia, and their friends and family were all helping out with the preparations. The air was buzzing with excitement, and hardly anyone noticed the unceasing pitter patter of raindrops outside the suite windows. Having photographed Eric and Julia’s solemnisation just slightly over a year ago, I saw some familiar faces and it was good to have a chit chat here and there with their friends and family members.
Crowne Plaza hotel is amazing and a photographer’s haven because it is peppered literally with many interesting corners and spots for photography. In fact after the wedding lunch, we had a whale of a time taking various shots around the hotel!
I feel happy for Eric and Julia as they celebrated their love and union. And in some nice, warm and fuzzy way, I also felt privileged to have been their photographer who was able to witness some of the most significant moments of their lives.
Here are some selections of the day to share with you.

What do they do? Well, they play golf! Ask Anders and Kelly, and they will tell you they are crazy over golf. Whenever they can squeeze time out of their busy schedules, they would go golfing. However, golfing aside, Anders and Kelly are one of the nicest folks I know. Anders is quiet, gentle and unassuming, while Kelly is thoughtful, considerate to others and always ready to greet you with a bright smile. Ander’s speech during the wedding, though brief, was heartfeflt when he thanked his mother for bringing him up. This struck a chord with me because I could understand the depth of love that a mother can give to her son, because my own mother is also like that.
I wish the both of them God’s richest blessings as they embark on this journey called marriage together.

My last wedding for 2010 took place at somewhere new to me – Marina Bay Sands. It was a place that I have heard much about and I had been also looking forward to check the place out. So I was pretty much excited to be shooting there. Moreover, it was Mark & Rochelle’s wedding and from our engagment shoot last month, I knew it would be a blast to shoot their wedding and it was!
Rochelle got up really early on the day and was all dressed and ready at the first light of day! Mark and the boys arrived shortly after that and it was a blast shooting them and their antics at “Rochelle Institution” or RI.. ahem.. get it?
Thereafter it was off the their new home and when I saw the place, lets just say I needed a while to pick my jaw up from the floor. It was a fantastic place and I can already imagine their kids will have so much fun playing hide and seek there!
Following are some images of the day to share with you.
