They say photographing kids is one of the hardest things because they just can’t sit still and can never look at the camera when you want them to! So what is the solution? Well, rope in the adults!

I had a great time shooting my friend Swee Keng, and her sibling’s family last weekend. Before that, I am told that her nephew and nieces are very active and it would probably be quite challenging to shoot them. Well, what little trepidation I felt evaporated when I saw the adorable kids! We had a little picnic with yummy finger food and fruits and everyone was free to do about just anything.

I ventured around the area with each family to take some shots and it was so sweet to see the interaction between the kids and their parents, amongst the kids, the kids with their grandmother, the kids with SK… Call me idealistic, but looking at the little ones, I just feel that all the problems in this world can be erased by the smiles on their faces! It was really fun playing with the kids and especially when shooting them together. This is where I got some help from the parents who really did an admirable job haha.

“Love” is the title of this post because I see it in so many forms in this one single session. Do you?

About 2 years back, I photographed a really cute little boy who just turned one. His name is Nathan and recently, Nathan’s mum contacted me and told me her second son is turning one too! Wow, how time flies!

Nathan has really grown up to be a big boy now. But one thing still remained the same – he is as active as ever!

Before the mini celebration at their home with their close friends and family, we had some  fun shooting the boys at the park nearby. Many a times their actions were so quick and unpredictable that it was really challenging trying to capture them. Nevertheless,  I think it was a good experience for me as I imagined one day I will be running about taking photos of my own kids. Haha.

I think Nathan and Gabriel have really cool parents that is willing to do much to celebrate their birthdays!

My wife is a teacher in Sunday school in our church. Today, we decided to bring out her students for a day out at Jurong Bird Park for some fun and time together. Of course being the good husband that I am, I am naturally the driver, caretaker and the photographer for the day. Not that I am complaining, what can I ask for more than spending a good part of the day with 4 pretty ladies heh.

I recalled how excited I was during prescription drugs without prescription my primary school days whenever there is a school outing. Those days, it seemed we only go to the zoo and no where else! However, the excitement never once waned. Grace, Carmen and Olivia seemed just as excited when we picked them up from their homes. Looking at the kids and observing them during our time together, I cannot help but realise what tremendous energy they have, ah… the exuberance of youth was indeed displayed in full force!

Check out Olivia's cute bag.. color coordinated!!

This image cracks me up. I call it... "Journey through the valley of scary birds"

With vigor and courage we will prevail crossing the precarious footbridge!

The kids took pictures of almost anything and everything.

Enjoying some cool ice cream... the day was hot!

Yes, enjoy the breeze.. enjoy the freedom.. enjoy your youth!

Both Ivy and I hope that the girls would take back some fond memories of this outing. Next year they would be assigned to different classes, but I trust that their friendship with one another will remain for a long time :)

Sometimes I really love taking pictures of little kids.. they are just so… Cute! I took Nathan’s birthday photos last month, and yesterday we had a chance to take him outdoors for a shoot. He is at the age where no longer is he contented to move by just crawling, and has now started to learn to walk. He is curious about everything and seemed to be really hungry as well as he tried to eat anything he could get his hands on!

Sometimes I do get an assignment that is different from the usual weddings and things wedding related. I kinda look forward to these as it offers me a chance to shoot something that is refreshing (not to say shooting weddings are stale haha). So it was with a sense of anticipation that I went for little Nathan’s one year old birthday dinner shoot a few nights ago. His birthday is significant as Nathan shares his birthday with his mummy!

We wanted to have an outdoor shoot before the dinner, but unfortunately, the skies poured and so the shoot has to be postponed. Nevertheless, it was still fun seeing the various cute expressions on Nathan’s face as you will see in the following pictures!
