There are weddings, and there are weddings. Some weddings become a hazy blur of memory bits after sometime, while some weddings you simply do not forget so easily.
Last Saturday, I witnessed a wedding that I believe will be the latter. It is the wedding of Si Yu and Yi Yong. They are my friends in church, and although I have not known them for very long, I have always felt that they are one of the most lovely couples around. Si Yu works in an old folks care centre, helping his uncle to manage the daily operations. Yi Yong on the other hand, just started her career as a doctor. Despite their busy schedule, they always make time for each other, and for others around them. Gentle and with a heart for people, and so much in love with each other, they leave a deep impression on me.
It was still dark and early when I reached Yi Yong’s place in JB. Though early, the bride was excited, and I began to capture the day’s events…
I wish Si Yu and Yi Yong the Lord’s richest blessings as they embark on their life journey… as one.

A smile of a bride to be, captured last weekend at a friend’s pre nuptial dinner.
For the technically inclined, this image was taken just before the first dish was being served, and when almost all the lights were off in the hall. Usually a flash would be needed to light up the scene, but it would also totally destroy the mood. This shot was only made possible using lens with a f-stop of 1.2!

4 months after being inducted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), I’m happy to announce that I’ve just been accepted into the artistic guild of the wedding photojournalist association [AG]WPJA!
The Artistic Guild of the wedding photojournalist association ”is a group of international wedding photojournalists, who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, and excel in the art of post-production image processing. The [AG]WPJA is a division within the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA); one which specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism.”
In short, this means that I am able to take wonderful and incredible pictures. Haha. Seriously, I’m glad that my works are being increasingly recognised and this is a great encouragement to me. I’m also grateful to all my couples and clients thus far who had trusted me with capturing their significant moments. I’m a happy man today

This session was supposedly to have happened before their ROM a month ago. However, it had to be canceled (twice!) as it rained each time. Last weekend, the skies decided to take pity on us and we managed to have some lens action at Changi beach… finally!
One thing I appreciate is that both Nicholas and Celia are so easy to shoot! They are so natural and spontaneous in front of the camera that it was great fun shooting them! Here are some highlights…
